Kelley drove through a dirt driveway where the vehicle went down into a ditch, hitting a culvert head on causing the vehicle to become airborne and land in the southbound lane on Route 1.

There were 2 occupants of the vehicle, 19 year old Lyndsay Rowland of Caribou and 18 year old Ian Tuttle of Presque Isle who were walking to Cary Medical Center for their injuries. The fourth occupant of the vehicle, Dylan Lamothe of Caribou, left the scene before Officers arrived. Lamothe eventually sought treatment for his injuries.

Kelley never notified the police of his involvement in the accident. Alcohol was major a factor in this crash. Kelley was arrested for OUI and DRIVING TO ENDANGER and was later bailed. His court date is scheduled for October 5, 2017.
