Shania Twain Debuting New Single at Stagecoach Festival
Shania Twain has been promising new music for quite some time, and it looks like fans won't have to wait much longer.
The superstar is set to perform at the Stagecoach Festival on Saturday (April 29), and in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, she confirms that she will perform her new single live at the event. She'll release the song to country radio in a few months.
"I have a new single coming out in June," Twain tells ET's Sophie Schillaci at her debut on The Voice on Monday night (April 24), where she's serving as a key advisor to the Top 12 contestants. "So I'm kicking off the summer with a new song, and then I'm finishing the summer with the release of the album."
Shania Twain Through the Years
The new album marks Twain's first all-new studio release since 2002's Up!, and it will be her first time working without the guiding hand of her former husband, producer "Mutt" Lange, since her debut album in 1993. The couple divorced in 2010.
"Creative independence is something that I haven't had in a really long time," she says. "It was really scary taking that leap. The album's done, and I feel really good. The first single is so optimistic and hopeful — regardless of how bad life could get. I really needed that message."
Twain did not tell ET the title of her new single, but she has previously revealed some song titles from the upcoming project, including “Life’s About to Get Good,” “Light of My Life” and “I’m Alright.” It also features a song about her divorce from Lange titled "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl."
