Sgt. Helaina Lake Reruns to Maine Five Months After Suffering Injuries in Afghanistan
Army soldier, Helaina Lake, returned to Portland today five months after suffering serious injuries from a suicide attack in Afghanistan.
Sgt. Lake was welcomed home by firefighters, a motorcade of police, friends and family who will escort her to her home town - Livermore Falls.
In June, Lake was severely wounded during a suicide attack in Afghanistan. Two were killed during the same attack and several others critically injured. Lake required multiple surgeries and rehabilitation help at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland.
