Friday around 4:22 pm, Sgt. Jeremy Forbes of Troop A saw Mason staggering down Jefferson St. in Biddeford, carrying an open container of Fireball Whiskey. Mason fled on foot when confronted, said police.

Shortly after, Sgt. Forbes found Mason hiding behind a trash dumpster on Elm St. and arrested him. Police said, when Mason was placed in the State cruiser, he attempted to kick out the windows and had to be further secured in a Biddeford Police cruiser for transport to the York County Jail.

Bail was set at $1250. Mason is required to register as a sex offender based on a conviction for sexual abuse of a minor.
