U.S. Senator Susan Collins says she plans on deciding whether or not to run for governor of Maine by this fall.

Collins, iin a Portland radio interview, said because of the current political climate in D.C. and her busy schedule she hadn't had any time to weigh the positives and negatives to running for the state's top position.

She did note, however, that she would be giving up her seniority in the Senate and would have to leave her seat midway through her term. If she ran and won, she would become the state's first female governor.

Current Governor Paul LePage said Thursday he would likely not endorse Collins if she makes a run for governor

Should she run for governor of Maine? Do you think she would do a better job than our current governor?
