The search for a man wanted in connection with the death of his former girlfriend  continues in the Guilford area.

State Police, the Maine Warden Service and the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s are actively involved in the search for 38-year-old Robert Burton, who is a suspect in the slaying of 37-year-old Stephanie Gebo.

The woman's body was found in her home in Parkman on June 5.

There have been no confirmed sightings of Burton since June 17 when he was seen along a snowmobile trail in Guilford. Burton is described as armed, dangerous and desperate.

Police on Friday parked a crime van along Route 15 in the center of Guilford and passed out flyers to motorists. (Photo below)

Police are urging area residents to continue to lock their houses, vehicles and any outbuildings, and leave outside lights on at night. To report any information on Burton’s whereabouts or suspicious activity, call  911 or the State Police in Bangor at 973-3700.
