It took four years but the Ellsworth posted its first win since returning the football program to the school while Hampden cruised to its first win of the season.The Ellsworth Eagles had to wait an extra day as their game against Washington Academy was postponed Friday because of heavy rain. On Saturday night they got three rushing touchdowns from Devin Wright to event their record at 1-1 this season. The Eagles will try to make it two in a row when they host Stearns/Schenck on Friday.

For the Hampden Broncos, Tommy Farrar accounted for all 5 touchdowns helping the Broncos beat Nokomis 40-8. Farrar threw touchdown passes to Jake Black, Brendan McIntyre and Tyler Knights. Farrar also had two touchdown runs to cap the Broncos first win of the season.
