Sam Hunt will be pre-gaming for the Super Bowl by playing a show Feb. 2 on the opening night of Club Nomadic, a pop-up venue in Houston being used leading up to the big game.

Pop-electronic duo the Chainsmokers will also be playing that night, and Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift will be performing before the traveling nightclub shuts down Feb. 4. Tickets are available now for the show via Ticketmaster.

Hunt — a former football player himself — has been a part of Super Bowl festivities in the past, having played the NFL Tailgate Party in 2016 at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco before the Denver Broncos took on the Carolina Panthers.

The artist is kicking off the new year as a fresh new page in his career, having dropped a previously-unreleased single called “Drinkin’ Too Much” just after midnight on Jan. 1. The song is a candid reflection of his feelings on a split from his longtime girlfriend, Hannah Lee Fowler, and how his newfound stardom has affected her.

News came from his camp the next day, Jan. 2, that the two are actually now engaged. Montevallo, his debut album, was named after her hometown — a fact he mentions in the new song that he regrets, because it put her in the spotlight.

Hunt is working on his much-anticipated sophomore album and is slated to headline the Taste of Country Music Festival in June.
