In the wake of the devastating terrorist attack at a gay nightclub in Orlando in the early morning hours of June 12, Ronnie Dunn has offered a statement on his Facebook page about why he does not believe gun control will minimize the number of similar attacks in the future.

In his post, Dunn sarcastically addresses President Obama's response to the shooting, in which he called for stricter gun control.

"So, a law is passed and we are ordered to turn our guns in (billions of them)....I bet criminals and 'terrorists' / Jihadists will rush to turn their guns in.....now, that's leadership. UNBELIEVABLE," Dunn writes.

A second post features an image shared from a page called “RightWingRavesRants” that states: "If a madman wants to kill innocent people he will find a way. Killers don’t need guns to kill people….The problem is not guns. It is a Godless society."

Dunn stayed a part of the conversation he incited on his page, issuing follow-up comments and responses to others. Dunn says radical Islam is the issue, not guns, and that "we are officially at war with a global, radical ideology."

The country singer's views are in line with many conservatives in the U.S. who believe that gun control takes away freedoms rather than protects the innocent. In the aftermath of the deadliest shooting in U.S. history, the topic of gun control has become top of mind for almost everyone across the country.

Brooks & Dunn recently extended their Las Vegas residency with Reba McEntire again, with new dates reaching into 2017.
