A woman in her thirties lost control of her car on the Iroquois Road shortly after 6 p.m., according to CIMT-TV. The car went into a ditch, traveled for about 300 feet, struck a rock, and rolled over a few times before coming to rest on its roof.

The woman managed to climb out the window of the overturned car.  She was transported to the Edmundston Regional Hospital to be treated for severe shock.  She was also treated for what appeared to be minor physical injuries.

Edmundston Police Force and the Fire Service were dispatched to the scene. An investigation is underway to determine whether or not distracted driving may have led to the accident.  It had been raining and the roads were slippery at the time.
