Maine State Police say 44-year-old Christopher Carson of Woodland was driving south in a 2005 Chevrolet pickup, towing a small trailer, when he lost control. The vehicle went off the highway and rolled over.

Trooper Caleb Adams responded to the crash shortly before 10:30 a.m. at mile marker 264 in Sherman. Carson and his female passenger were transported by Patten Ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

Corp. Corey Hafford said the poor condition of the tires was the primary cause of the crash. Carson was also apparently traveling too fast for the road conditions, police said. Both the driver and passenger were wearing seat belts.

I-95 southbound was shut down briefly to remove the vehicle.
