Tasman Leather employs 170 Mainers and sells 100% American-made leather to a number of different companies, including New Balance and L.L. Bean.  The U.S. military is the largest user of Tasman’s products, using materials for boots and gloves.

Newport Industrial Fabrication, Inc. (NIF) is a growing steel fabricator and industrial painter that specializes in three dimensional free space frames.  2017 marks NIF’s 30-year anniversary.  The facility has grown from 8,000 square feet to over 35,000 square feet, providing for nearly 60 jobs.

Congressman Poliquin’s top priority in Congress is to protect and grow jobs in Maine.  The Congressman is thrilled to have the opportunity to tour both Tasman Leather and Newport Industrial Fabrication and to meet with these skilled, hardworking Maine craftsmen and women.
