On Monday morning, it was announced that the 'Summer Camp with Trucks Tour 2024,' featuring Hootie & The Blowfish, Collective Soul, and Edwin McCain, will be coming to the Maine Savings Amphitheater on the Bangor Waterfront on June 14th, 2024.

However, this won't be Darius Rucker's first visit to our Queen City of the East. In fact, Rucker played on the Bangor Waterfront most recently on July 29th, 2016. He brought his 'Good For a Good Time' tour to the venue, then known as Darlings Waterfront Pavilion, and now as the Maine Savings Amphitheater.

For that show, he had Michael Ray and Dan + Shay as opening acts. Michael Ray was promoting the singles from his self-titled debut country album, including 'Think a Little Less' and 'Kiss You in the Morning.'

It was a few years before Dan + Shay released their massive hits like 'Tequila,' 'Speechless,' 'All to Myself,' and '10,000 Hours.'

One of the memorable moments of the night was when all three acts joined on stage to perform Hootie and the Blowfish's hit single "Hold My Hand." They also played other Hootie songs from the 'Cracked Rear View' album, including ‘Time,’ ‘Let Her Cry,’ and ‘Only Wanna Be With You.’

After learning that Hootie was coming to Bangor, I decided to dust off my record collection and came across a green-marbled version of ‘Cracked Rear View.’ To celebrate, I had to give it a couple of spins.

We're eagerly anticipating the return of Darius and the entire Hootie crew to Bangor next summer!
