The University of Maine at Presque Isle, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will host its summer American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, June 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room.

All presenting donors will get a chance to win 3 tickets to a Boston Red Sox home game, recognition at the game, and receive a special commemorative souvenir.

Members of the UMPI campus and community are invited and encouraged to participate in this free event. If donors wish to reserve a time to make their donation, they should call 1-800-GIVE LIFE or sign up at the online appointment schedule at www.newenglandblood.org. Just click on “Search by Zip Code” and enter 04769.

American Red Cross

The blood drive is sponsored by the University’s Dean of Student’s Office and Phi Eta Sigma – National Honor Society, and the UMPI Red Cross Club.

Since 1987, over 5,100 pints of blood have been collected at the blood drives at UMPI.

Volunteers are needed to escort donors to the canteen and working the canteen; anyone interested in volunteering or in need of more information should call Jim Stepp at 768-9601 or james.stepp@maine.edu.
