Red Riots Sweep Class C Track & Field
The Orono Red Riots made it a clean sweep of the track and field state championships in Class C. Both girls and boys teams claim titles - the girls win for a fifth straight year.
Orono junior Jake Koffman set a state record with throw of 109-feet 9-inches.
Orono's Tia Tardy set a state record in the 800-meters with a time of 2:13.
Before the day was over, the Riots had set five state records.
The Red Riots girls team has now won five consecutive state Class C titles. The boys have won back-to-back chamipionships.
