A Red Flag Warning has been issued for parts of the state, including Northern and Eastern Maine. It's in effect for Friday, May 11th from 11 am to 8 pm (ET).

The Maine Forest Rangers detail what a Red Flag Warning means:

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will create dangerous fire weather conditions.”

The Warning says the impact can be: “Any fires which ignite could spread very rapidly and become out of control.”

There are multiple areas affected. The Warning includes these areas in Aroostook County and beyond (See the full list of locations in the embed below):
