To help ensure safety on the trails, the RCMP will be conducting general patrols and sporadic check stops on the NBFSC trails, as well as at rest stops, gas stations, and at remote snowmobile camps.

Patrol objectives will include:

  • Ensuring driver sobriety
  • Ensuring the use of proper safety equipment
  • Ensuring valid motor vehicle registrations
  • Verifying proof of insurance
  • Safe operation of snowmobiles
  • Education on safe snowmobile
  • Verifying camps and cottages in isolated areas

Patrols were conducted Wednesday in Shediac, Beaubassin, Memramcook, and Sackville.

Patrolling will continue throughout the winter season.
