On October 8, the Keswick RCMP responded to a request for assistance from the Conservation Unit of the New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety. Police said, a conservation officer had stopped a vehicle on a logging road that was found to be carrying marijuana plants.

Police seized approximately 75 marijuana plants and placed the driver of the vehicle under arrest. The amount of marijuana seized could have produced upwards of 37,500 marijuana joints, said officials.

The man was later released and is scheduled to appear in Fredericton Provincial Court on January 13, 2017.
