Campbellton RCMP are investigating an armed bank robbery that occurred at the Caisse populaire Restigouche, located at 14 Roseberry Street in Campbellton, N.B. on today, according to the RCMP.

At approximately 11:05 a.m., a man entered the bank, armed with a weapon, and demanded money from an employee, says police. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and approximately 180 lbs. He spoke English with a French accent and wore dark-coloured clothing. He wore sunglasses and a bandana over his face with an image of a skull on it, according to the RCMP.

The suspect fled the scene in a silver Toyota Venza. There was no visible rear licence plate.

The investigation is continuing.
