Codiac Regional RCMP is releasing the name and photograph of the man they are searching for in the Salisbury Road area of Moncton.

Police said, they are concerned about the safety and well-being of 20-year-old Travis Squires of Moncton as he may be in possession of a firearm and could possibly do harm to himself.

Codiac RCMP has been searching for him, with the help of the RCMP helicopter and police dog, since approximately 5:30 this morning following a call to an incident involving an assault and damage to property on Shamrock Avenue, according to police.

Salisbury Road is now reopened to traffic and residents in that area are free to travel. However, police continue to block access to Rosewood Trailer Park and residents there are asked to remain inside.
