The Codiac Regional RCMP has charged 37 drivers with Motor Vehicle Act offences during a recent one-day enforcement initiative.

On July 18, 2017, police checked the speed of approximately 7,500 vehicles throughout Greater Moncton Area, specifically targeting drivers who were driving more than 25 km/hr over the speed limit. Thirty drivers were charged with speeding.

On the same day, police also conducted an initiative during the lunch hour in downtown Moncton targeting other offences under the Motor Vehicle Act, such as cell phone use while driving and not wearing a seatbelt. An additional seven drivers were charged.

Codiac RCMP will continue to enforce the Motor Vehicle Act throughout the Greater Moncton Area.
