The RCMP in Minto, New Brunswick are investigating a recent arson of forestry equipment in Hardwood Ridge, and are asking for the public's help.

The incident was reported to police on Sunday morning. A wood chipping machine and a skidder machine were destroyed by fire. The equipment, belonging to a private forestry company, was located about 13 kilometers out the FC61 logging road, off Immigrant Road, between Minto and Chipman.

The Oromocto Fire Department and the New Brunswick Fire Marshal were called to the scene. It's believed the equipment was deliberately set on fire. The damage is estimated at approximately $1.5 million.
