Rascal Flatts, Kelsie Ballerini and Chris Lane wrapped up what has been an amazing 2016 at the Darlings Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor. Like school children dragging their feet to class, all good things must come to an end… that is until next year.

Chris Lane kicked things off for the Rhythm and Roots Tour, Sunday September 4th at the waterfront playing notable favorites such as “Fix” and “Let Me Love You” from his album “Girl Problems.”

Following his performance, 22 year old Kelsea Ballerini hit the stage performing “Love Me Like You Mean It”, “Dibs” and “Peter Pan” while at one point making her way to the front of the crowd to take selfie’s with enthusiastic fans.

Finally, with thousands of fans cheering, Rascal Flatts hit the stage opening up with an appropriate song “Summer Nights” followed by their latest single “I Like The Sound of That.” At one point pianist Jay DeMarcus poked fun of the political scene that is going on and jokingly asked people to vote for him as President in the election. All that aside, Rascal Flatts members know how to have a good time, mixing some of their songs like “Stand” into a notable classic of Phil Collins “In The Air Tonight” and paying tribute to Prince performing “Purple Rain.” The band wrapped up the show with their hit from the 2006 album “Me and My Gang.”

Certainly it has been an eventful summer concert series with the likes of Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Darius Rucker, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney and others. Now like kids on Christmas Eve, we’ll wait for next year’s lineup of concerts for 2017. As Rascal Flatts posted from their Instagram account with a selfie at the show, “Bangor Maine y'all rocked it tonight. What a party! Till next time... We love ya!
