The Edward Little Red Eddies opened up the 2016 high school football season with a commanding 18-8 victory over the Bangor Rams.
Max Bell opened the scoring with a 47-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put EL on top, 6-0, after a failed two-point try.

Tyler Blanchard made it 12-0 when you scored on a 5-yard run.

The Red Eddie's then broke out the trickery late in the second quarter to triple their lead. Quarterback, Grant Hartley pitched the ball to running back, Tyler Blanchard, who stopped and aired it out to C.J. Jipson, connecting for a 34 yard score to give E.L an 18-0 lead before the half.

In the fourth quarter, Bangor found some life as they moved the ball down the field, finishing the drive with a passing touchdown from QB, Gary Farnham to Derek McCarthy. Farnham finished the game 16-34 through the air, with one touchdown and one interception.

The Rams relied on their passing attack, as EL held Bangor to less than 50 total yards on the ground.
