Prices at the Pump Up Slightly in New England

Gas prices around northern New England have seen a slight edge upward in the past week.

Gas Buddy.com's daily survey showed a half penny increase for both Maine and New Hampshire from the previous week in the average retail gas price. Pump prices were at $2.81 here in Maine. In Presque Isle, most gas outlets showed a price per gallon of $2.93.

Elsewhere around the region, New Hampshire's average price per gallon was at $2.74 a gallon, while Vermont showed a slight increase as well to an average $2.79 a gallon.

Over the past month the national average has gone up 14.5 cents and is now 46.5 cents a gallon higher than it was a year ago.
