You can argue that Red Sox ace David Price out pitched SF Giants ace Madison Bumgarner but at the end of the night the Sox lost a heartbreaker 2-1.

Price pitched a complete game, three hitter. The only problem is that two of those hits were solo home runs and the second one proved to be the winner.

Bumgarner lasted six innings. His one mistake was to Chris Young who hit a 4th inning homer for the Sox.

The Sox did have a chance in the 9th inning. Hanley Ramirez at second base after a two base error to lead off. But, Jackie Bradley Jr. struck out, David Oritz walked, Travis Shaw struck out and Marco Hernandez grounded out.

Boston drops to 34-25 and now sit 1.5 behind first place Baltimore.
