The Presque Isle Police Department is once again asking for the public's help, but not in the way you might think. They're not looking for help in apprehending a fugitive. They're simply asking for your help in voting for your favorite design of shoulder patch.

The Presque Isle Police Department's new shoulder patch contest was on display at the Northeastland Hotel during last Friday's First Friday Downtown Art Walk.

The turn out was awesome but in order to give everyone a chance to weigh in, the Police Department has posted all of the submissions to their Pinterest page.

This contest is truly meant to be a community driven process where the community develops the designs and then selects their favorites; your votes will matter!

Please take look at all of the patches and let them know your top eight favorites. Simply leave a number (1 through 8) in the comment section under each patch. For example, under your favorite patch simply place a 1 in the comment box, likewise a 2 for your 2nd favorite and so on through 8. The voting will last for the entire month of April.

Chief Matt Irwin says the department is equally interested in the concept depicted on the patch as much as the colors and shape. Sometimes a great drawing with great detail does not easily translate into a patch where stitching can't provide similar detail. The winning patch may need to be tweaked a bit in order to make it a more discernible patch.

Take a moment and check out the Presque Isle Police Department's Pinterest page and vote for your favorites!
