The opening reception, “Fragments: A woman’s journey into glass,” will be held on February 3, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, during the First Friday Downtown Art Walk.

Kathleen is a Maine native, born and raised in Presque Isle. She and her husband Don moved back to Presque Isle in 1990 to raise their two sons, Bennett and Brock.

Throughout her life, Kathleen searched for an outlet for her creative energy. When she took a stained glass class 10 year ago, she knew immediately she found her passion. She furthered her knowledge and skill at the Phoenix Studio in Portland, taking advanced classes.

I also have fun incorporating ‘found’ objects: old bottles, shells, crystals, and the bottoms of special wine bottles into my glass designs.

“I create a wide variety of glass art: traditional stained glass window panels, suncatchers, tiles, garden stones, jewelry, and mosaics,” said Kathleen. “In an effort to continue to grow, I bought a kiln two years ago. I now enjoy creating fused glass jewelry, ornaments, and dishes."
