Presque Isle Man Rescued After Capsizing Boat in Lake
A Presque Isle man was taken to the hospital after capsizing his boat Thursday morning in the frigid waters of Arnold Brook Lake.
The Presque Isle Fire Department responded to the call at 9:20 a.m., according to Capt. Vince Baldwin. Crews arrived with one fire engine and a rescue boat and found the man hanging on to the overturned boat. Roger Carmichael had been in the water for about 30 minutes when rescuers pulled him from the lake, according to Capt. Baldwin.
Carmichael was taken to The Aroostook Medical Center to be treated for possible hypothermia. The 58-year-old man was released from the hospital early Thursday afternoon.
Presque Isle Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Allen Dudley of the Maine Warden Service and members of the Presque Isle Police Department, Baldwin said.
