Anyone interested in learning more about the history of Presque Isle is welcome to join the city’s Historical Society this weekend for a couple guided tours.

On August 9, there will be a one-hour walking tour of the historic Fairmount Cemetery, in which tour guides will share with the public the origins of the cemetery as well as the background of nearly 30 historical figures buried there.

The tour will begin at 5:30 PM and costs $5.00 per person. Reservations for this tour are required and can be made by calling 762-6300.

In addition, Saturday August 10 the Historical Society will provide a three-hour city-wide tour focused on local areas of historical interest aboard Molly the Trolley. The tour is scheduled to get started at 9 AM at the Historic Fire Station and costs $5.00 per person.

Seating for this tour is extremely limited, so please call the Trolley Reservation Line at 762-6300 to ensure your spot.
