Presque Isle Historical Society is very pleased to announce Ann Cushman named “Director of the Year”.

Cushman was presented with a plaque at the February 18 quarterly meeting of Presque Isle Historical Society’s Board of Directors.  The Director of the Year is voted on by all directors via secret ballot and presented annually at the February meeting.

Ann was selected for her volunteer efforts on behalf of the Society. In addition to serving as the Vice President of the Board for numerous years, she attends or volunteers at almost all of the 40 plus events and programs held by the society every year and donates countless hours of genealogical research for the society in order for new presentations on topics of local historical interest to be prepared.

Ann, who works at Cary Medical Center, is also very involved in a number of other organizations including Aroostook Genealogical Society, Maine Genealogical Society, New England Historic Genealogical Society, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Maine Old Cemetery Association, General Society of Mayflower Descendants, Maine Historical Society, and Grant Memorial United Methodist Church.  She also volunteers at the Mark & Emily Turner Library.
