An 11-year-old Presque Isle girl won the New England Elks’ Hoop Shoot Championship in her division over the weekend.

Faith Sjoberg competed against 10 and 11-year-olds from all across New England Saturday at Westbrook High School. She will next compete against division winners from all over the U.S. at the Elks’ National Hoop Shoot competition in Chicago on April 16.

Before capturing the title of New England Champion, Faith first won the free throw competition at Presque Isle Middle School. She next won at the Presque Isle Elks, Lodge #1954, Hoop Shoot on January 9, before winning the Northern District Competition on January 17. Faith won the Maine Elks Hoop Shoot contest on January 31 and has now won her fifth straight competition this year.

Faith is the daughter of Kevin and Susan Sjoberg of Presque Isle.
