Presque Isle Couple Arrested in Heroin-Cocaine Bust [PHOTO]

Wednesday, a couple from Presque Isle and a New York man were arrested in Presque Isle and charged with distribution of heroin and cocaine.

As part of an on-going effort focused on the importation of heroin into Aroostook County, agents from MDEA’s Aroostook Task Force in Houlton executed a search warrant this morning at 138 Reach Road apartment “B” in Presque Isle. Three occupants of the apartment were arrested following the discovery of 125 bags of heroin and nearly 2 ounces of cocaine, with a combined street value of approximately $9000, said officials.

Charged thus far as a result of this investigation are:

1. Akahenten Ferguson- 28-years-old of the Bronx, New York, has been charged with (2) counts of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin and cocaine). Ferugson is currently being held on $10,000 cash bail.
2. Nathan Manning-Harris- 31-years-old of Presque Isle, has been charged with unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin/cocaine) and violations of conditions of release due to the fact that Manning-Harris was out on bail stemming from a pending MDEA drug trafficking charge. No bail was allowed.
3. Alexsea Cholewa- 22-years-old of Presque Isle, has been charged with unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin/cocaine). She was released on $5000 unsecured bail.

All were transported to the Aroostook County Jail for processing.

There were 2 children, ages 2 and 4, present at the time the warrant was executed. DHHS was notified, authorities said.

MDEA was assisted in this investigation by the Presque Isle Police Department, the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine State Police. This investigation is on-going and more arrests are possible.

This investigation highlights the increasing trend of out of state drug traffickers who are coming to all parts of this state in order to traffic in these highly addictive drugs. The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency stands committed to working with all partners in order to target, infiltrate and arrest individuals who come here in order to distribute drugs.
