King is battling a life-threatening spinal muscular atrophy and the Make-A-Wish foundation in Maine is helping grant his wish. Some kids dream to fly a plane, others to visit NASA, but King wants to be famous for a day.

When city of Presque Isle found out about King’s request they knew they had to help. On Saturday, October 20, a red carpet event will be held to welcome Christopher as he arrives. City Council members will present the proclamation to Christopher in person naming him ‘Honorary Mayor for the Day.’ The boy will also receive ‘Key to the City.’

But that’s not all. Presque Isle Police Department will provide police escort for Christopher all day plus a tour of the police facility. The Fire Department will have fire trucks available for King to explore, and both departments will present him with rare memorabilia.

After the event, King will visit the Northern Maine Regional Airport and then off to local shops for a shopping spree.

If you would like to join in the celebration you can by coming to the Presque Isle Public Safety Building located at 43 North Street at 11 a.m.
