Presque Isle Embraces Biathletes [VIDEO]

Athletes from 29 different countries converged upon the Nordic Heritage Center here in Presque Isle for seven jam-packed days of biathlon.

Aroostook County has really embraced these up and coming biathlon stars, with over 400 volunteers working at the venue and around the community. Several school busses have been enlisted to shuttle athletes, coaches and trainers from area hotels to the venue. Almost every lighted sign in Presque Isle says, "Welcome Biathletes" or something similar.

The Opening Ceremonies took place last night at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
