The New Brunswick government is showing signs of being upbeat where the province economy is concerned.

Along with its population, Premier Brian Gallant says the province's economy is growing, even though CBC News reported that New Brunswick's economy was predicted to be the worst of 10 provinces in Canada.

In releasing its annual economic report, the province says its figures show the real GDP increased for a fourth consecutive year, with a growth of 1.9 percent in 2017.

Recent reports show that the population grew for the second year in a row as well.

The report went on to advise that wages and salaries increased by 3.3 percent in 2017 and the unemployment rate fell to 8.1 percent.
