It's time to rally around a little girl and her family here in Aroostook County. We told you about a little girl from Houlton earlier this year who is in need of our help.

Kirk and Amy Ward’s daughter, Makenna was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2009 when she was just 23 months old. She’s now 6-years-old. Neuroblastoma is a form of cancer that occurs in infants and young children that accounts for approximately 6% of all cancers in children. She’s a fighter though! Get her full story here.

For the Ward family, this has been an uphill battle. Recently, Makenna's Bone Marrow came back with clusters of disease.

According to Kirk Ward, their plan is to return to Boston not for the Mibg bit instead for a stem cell recovery. Makenna's options have now become even more limited, and are looking to make each day count!

This family is in serious need of some prayers and to have a glimmer of hope in these dark days.

Diane Hiscoe of Houlton wanted to do something to help. She wants the community to come together during this difficult time for the Ward family, and shower them in thoughts and prayers and show them that the community is behind them.

So coming up on Saturday, December 7th the community is invited to come together and pray and sing Christmas Carols for Makenna and her family starting at 6:30pm in Monument Park, next to Cary Library in Houlton. You're asked to bring candles as well.
