A major Nor'easter snow storm will reach into Aroostook County and western New Brunswick Thursday afternoon bringing heavy snowfall, strong winds and blowing snow.

The National Weather Service has extended its Blizzard Warning  as far north as the Caribou and Van Buren areas with 10 to 14 inches of snow expected by the time the storm winds down early Friday morning.

A winter storm warning is posted for northern Aroostook County. Environment Canada has issued a similar Winter Storm Warning for Carleton, Victoria and Madawaska counties.

Forecasters say the main concern with this major Nor'easter is the wind which will cause significant blowing and drifting snow.

The storm will move in quickly Thursday afternoon with winds gusting up to 40 miles per hour by evening.  The latest expected snowfall totals are outlined below.
