Emera Maine crews are scheduled to perform work to the electrical system on Sunday, December 11th beginning at 1:00 a.m. and lasting for approximately four hours to about 5 a.m. The grid work has been moved ahead a week due to this week's record snowfalls. Electric service will be suspended to enable crews to safely complete their work.

Officials say this will impact all Emera Maine customers and Eastern Maine Electric customers in Benedicta, Crystal, Dyer Brook, East Millinocket, Grindstone, Hersey, Herseytown, Island Falls, Ludlow, Medway, Merrill, New Limerick, Oakfield, Patten, Sherman, Silver Ridge, Smyrna and Stacyville.

The outage had originally been scheduled for December 4th. Bur two major snow events and subsequent power restorations efforts have meant moving the maintenance date. As of Saturday, all but a few customers in northern Maine had their electricity back.
