Things should be busier than usual around the Portland International Jetport on Saturday. PWM will be hosting a full scale exercise with emergency personnel from 7am-1pm. Smoke and Emergency Vehicles will be visible, so don't panic if you see them during this time.

The Jetport is required by the FAA to have these full-scale training exercises every few years. This test will have first responders and local hospitals react to a mock incident involving a commercial airplane with 50 passengers. According to the City of Portland, there will be about 75 firefighters from around Cumberland County involved in the exercise. If you have a flight coming in or going out on Saturday, no worries. Jetport operations will continue as usual. The only thing you DO need to worry about is traffic congestion around the area. Good Luck and Thank You to all our heroic First Responders!
