Somehow Rick Porcello deserved better. He made one mistake last night - giving up a solo home run in the second inning to Mark Trumbo and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Sox 1-0.

It was an old time pitching duel between Porcello and O's starter Kevin Gausman.

Porcello(20-4, 3.12) went eight innings, giving up that one run run, scattered four hits and didn't walk a batter. At one point Porcello retired 17 consecutive batters.

Gausman was one pitch better. No runs, four hits in eight innings.

For Porcello, it was his first loss at Fenway this year. He is now 13-1.

Most importantly, the AL East division race tightens. The O's are a game back of the Sox as the Yankees come to Fenway next for a four game series starting tonight.
