Presque Isle police received a call at about 1:52 a.m. Monday that a young man identified as James Shaw had posted on Facebook that he was going to kill his girlfriend.  According to information from Presque Isle Police Chief Matt Irwin, Shaw apparently made further posts describing the weapons he had available to him.

Irwin said Shaw was wanted for felony level domestic violence against his girlfriend last week, and had been eluding capture.  Police were able to confirm the suspect was at a property at Skyway Mobile Home Park and was with his girlfriend.

At about 3:30 a.m. the Presque Isle Police Department began to watch the residence while a search warrant and arrest warrant was completed. At that time, Maine State Police was called for tactical assistance.

After allegedly making several posts on Facebook threatening to harm himself and others including police, Shaw barricaded himself in the home.
