Police Standoff Ends Peacefully in Lincoln, Maine [UPDATE]
A standoff between police and an armed man in Lincoln came to an end Tuesday morning after more than 18 hours.
Lincoln Police say William Bradbury had barricaded himself inside his home on West Broadway since Monday afternoon. Police went to the home around midday to serve Bradbury a pair of arrest warrants in connection with alleged sexual offenses, involving the abuse of two young teens.
The Maine State Police tactical team and Penobscot County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene. Police blocked off a stretch of Route 2 in Lincoln and a few nearby homes were evacuated.
Police say the standoff ended around 9:20 Tuesday morning when Bradbury surrendered.
