On Friday around 1:45 p.m., RCMP stopped a vehicle near Bedell, New Brunswick. A search of the car led to the discovery of 120-thousand illegal cigarettes stored in the trunk, police say. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Fredericton, was released pending a future court appearance.

On Saturday, around 12:45 a.m., RCMP stopped a second vehicle near Waterville. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 270-thousand illegal cigarettes. Two Nova Scotia men, a 52-year-old and a 29-year-old, were released pending future court appearances.
