Members of the St. George detachment responded to a two-vehicle collision on Wellington Road shortly before 10 p.m.

Police believe a grey, 2002 Toyota Corolla travelling downhill towards Main Street sideswiped a pickup truck before the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle a number of times, according to Sgt. Ross Davis.

The car was heavily damaged, but when bystanders reached the vehicle to provide assistance, the occupants had fled, Davis said. The occupants of the pickup truck were not injured.

Police say speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.

St. George RCMP are asking anyone with information about this incident, or who witnessed the crash, to contact them at (506) 755-1130.
