Police Investigating Break-in and Thefts in Washburn
The Washburn Police Department is asking for information related to the theft of an ATV from a downtown business and a burglary at another property in the same area.
Police Chief Roy Guidry said someone broke into the storage/maintenance building at Story Hill Estates sometime Saturday or Sunday. A significant amount of power tools, supplies and equipment was stolen. The new door was damaged where it had been kicked open.
Also over the weekend, a youth-sized Yamaha 110 ATV was stolen from the lot behind Sled Quarters on Main Street in Washburn, Guidry said. The owner discovered the theft early Monday. The older model four-wheeler is blue and had a blue tarp around the seat.
Anyone with any information that may be helpful in recovering these stolen items is encouraged to call the Washburn Police Department at 455-4043.
