A 38-year-old St. Andrews man has been arrested after an incident involving a firearm that occurred in the south end of Water Street on Sunday.

 

West District RCMP responded at approximately 2:30 p.m. and arrested the man without incident by 3:00 p.m., according to police.The south end of Water Street was temporarily cordoned off during that time.

Police said, the initial investigation indicates the firearm was discharged to shoot a wild animal that had reportedly attacked a neighbor's dog. The man was taken into custody and later released. The investigation is continuing.
