Police Identify Body Found in Southern Maine Parking Lot

BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) — Maine police have identified the man found dead in an apartment building's parking lot early this week.

Biddeford police say 23-year-old Devon Smith was found early Monday morning by residents who called 911 to report the body. Smith's last known address was in Scarborough, according to police.

Biddeford Deputy Police Chief JoAnn Fisk said Thursday that an autopsy has been ordered and the investigation into Smith's death continues.

Police characterized the death as unexplained but not suspicious, and they are hoping to release more information in coming days.
