Police have arrested a 27-year-old man following a shooting Thursday night near Edmundston, New Brunswick.


At approximately 10:30 p.m., RCMP received a call that a man had been shot along a back road in the Lac Baker area, according to Constable Jullie Rogers-Marsh.  The victim, a 37-year-old man from Clair was taken to hospital the Edmundston Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound. He remains in hospital.

About four hours later, RCMP arrested a 27-year-old man from Clair in connection with the shooting.

Police say the victim and the suspect knew each other.

There’s no word on any charges at this time. The investigation continues.
