Tenneson will deliver her talk An Intimate Look at the Intimate Portrait on September 11, at 7:00pm in the Campus Center. The lecture is free and the public is invited.

An exhibit of Tenneson's photographs will be hosted at the Reed Fine Art Gallery on UMPI's Campus. Her exhibit Wise Women: A Celebration of Their Insights, Courage, and Beauty will be on display in the gallery from September 3rd through October 12th. There will be a reception and book signing in the Reed Gallery on Sept. 11 from 5-7 p.m.—just prior to her DLS presentation—and Tenneson will deliver a gallery talk at 5:30 p.m.

Joyce Tenneson's photographs have been featured on the covers of Time, Life, Newsweek, Premiere, Esquire and The New York Times Magazine. She is the author of fifteen books including the best seller, Wise Women, which was featured in a six-part Today Show series.

She is also the recipient of many awards, including the International Center of Photography’s Infinity Award and the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Professional Photographers of America. The Lucie Awards named Joyce Tenneson as Fine Art Photographer of the Year in 2005 and she has been named Photographer of the Year by the international organization Women in Photography.

The lecture is presented by Canon USA's Explorer of Light program.
